The Middle East is a region where vehicle is king and fuel is inexpensive, often leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly methods of moving around.
But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have actually risen the cost of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually entered sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints on the planet, one company is benefiting from the growing pressure to discover options to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing rewarding too, already their client-list includes McDonald's.
